Michelle Williams ‘Got Less Than ONE Percent of the $2M Mark Wahlberg Took Home for ‘All the Money in the World’ reshoot
For an actress that’s a top-billed star and a 5-time Golden Globe nominee, Michelle Williams made just $80 per day to reshoot ‘All the Money in the World’. All thanks to Kevin Spacey!
Yeah, because if it weren’t for the inappropriate sexual behavior of Kevin Spacey, the director, Ridley Scott, would not have had to reshoot the scenes in the first place.
In fact, originally, the Hollywood community was celebrating Ridley Scott following his decision to reshoot the scenes of ‘All the Money in the World’ with Spacey’s replacement Christopher Plummer.
Seems to me that celebration was a bit premature now, wasn’t it?
So the director got rid of the wonderful sexual predator, Kevin Spacey, but decided to pay Michelle Williams morsels compared to her fellow actor Mark Wahlberg. And I do mean morsels. That’s right!
Wahlberg for 10 days of work got paid a whopping $2 million. However when it came to paying the co-star Williams, she made just $80 per day.
So the single mother, Williams, that traveled to Italy over Thanksgiving for a reshoot was paid .04% what her male co-star, Wahlberg made for doing the same work?
What’s up with THAT?
Can’t imagine Michelle Williams was too happy after finding out the news, can you?
Melissa Silverstein, founder of Women in Hollywood was the first to point out the reported pay gap on Monday, tweeting: ‘On the day after display of female power at the #goldenglobes, I learned that there was an egregious pay gap between Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlberg for the All the Money in the World reshoot. Did they think this wouldn’t come out? Unacceptable #TimesUp.’
She later stated that her source is ‘100 percent reliable.’
Slow down folks. Hold your horses.
It seems Williams told multiples sources while promoting the film that she had agreed to work for free on the reshoot. She evidently felt ‘invigorated’ to be taking a pro-active stance in the wake of the Spacey’s allegations and in return wanted to help Scott save the film.
In addition Williams stressed giving up her holiday and pay were sacrifices she was willing to make giving the situation.
Well, I’m guessing Ms. Williams didn’t know Wahlberg was making $2 million for the reshoot.
Evidently, even the director, Scott, was under the impression the two stars were not being paid. Holy cow!
Here’s one recent interview with USA Today:
RIDLEY SCOTT: “The whole reshoot was — in normal terms was expensive but not as expensive as you think. Because all of them, everyone did it for nothing.”
USA TODAY: “Really?”
SCOTT: “No, I wouldn’t get paid, I refused to get paid.”
USA TODAY: “You didn’t pay the actors more to do it?”
SCOTT: “No, they all came in free. Christopher had to get paid. But Michelle, no. Me, no. I wouldn’t do that to — ”
Looks like director Ridley Scott really did have no idea.
So let me get this straight?
Chris Plummer was brought in to replace Spacey and he was paid handsomely.
The crew of the film that did the reshoots was all compensated for their work,
Mark Wahlberg was paid $2 million and Michelle Williams was paid $800 for 10 days.
What’s up with Mark’s huge salary? Why such the discrepancy? What about #MeToo?
You would think a five-time Golden Globe nominee would be compensated for her skills and acting wouldn’t you? Wasn’t Williams even nominated for her role in this movie?
I don’t get it.
If Mark Wahlberg knew that Michelle Williams was working for the minimum $80/day to make a statement, you would think he would have showed some respect to women and done the same. Then, again this is Hollywood.
Everyone for himself, right Mark?
