Gene Simmons Has LEWD Meltdown at Fox News… Gets Banned FOR LIFE
Hoo boy… it’s going to be one of those days. KISS frontman Gene Simmons had a lewd meltdown at Fox News yesterday and got himself banned… for life. His photograph was promptly posted Wednesday at the security entrance of the company’s Manhattan headquarters along with a “do-not-admit” advisory. It was just that bad and that bizarre. Until this week, Simmons, an old friend of President Trump’s, was a favorite on Fox News. His rock-n-roll attitude was blunt and simultaneously charming. And then he slipped a cog out of nowhere.
Gene Simmons, 68, appeared on Fox & Friends on Wednesday morning. Then he did an appearance on Maria Bartiromo’s Fox Business Network show. He was there to promote his new book On Power. But things went from strange to wacko fast. At first he was funny. Simmons jumped up from the Fox & Friends couch to help meteorologist Janice Dean do her weather report and a delighted Dean later posted the video on her Twitter feed. It looked like Gene Simmons was just goofing off and having fun. Until shortly thereafter.

Bartiromo asked Simmons about his views on the Harvey Weinstein sexual-misconduct scandal. Bad move. That was the fuse that lit his bomb. Gene Simmons stated, “The lunatics have taken over the insane asylum when respected business entities such as yourself ask guys that like to stick their tongues out what I think of Harvey Weinstein. Okay, I’m a powerful and attractive man, and what I’m about to say is deadly serious,” he continued. “Men are jackasses. From the time we’re young we have testosterone. I’m not validating it or defending it.” Got that, but then he went on to demonstrate what he just said. Considering the amount of women Simmons has bedded during his career, he should not go anywhere near the Weinstein issue.
Simmons showed up on the 14th floor for his book-plugging interview with Fox News’ entertainment section. But instead of doing that, he barged into a staff meeting uninvited and went on a tear. “Hey chicks, sue me!” he shouted and then Simmons pulled open his red velvet shirt to reveal his chest and belly, according to a source at Fox News. Then he starting telling Michael Jackson pedophilia jokes and then bopped two employees on the head with his book, making derisive comments about their comparative intelligence according to the sound their heads made when struck. He also asked an employee, who is black, if he was Al Roker. Just wow.
“It was pretty severe,” the source said. Gene Simmons’ misconduct was immediately reported to management and then to human-resources executive Kevin Lord. That was when he was summarily banned for life from the building. He will no longer be permitted on any Fox News or Fox Business Network programming. His interview with FoxNews.com, meanwhile, was taped but will not be published. Neither Gene Simmons or his publicist could be reached for comment. Small wonder there – it’s been two days and still nothing. I’m not sure that Simmons comes back from this one. I don’t know WTH he was thinking.
Looks like he crossed the line at Fox News big time. I don’t know whether this is age-related, a publicity stunt gone wrong, a mental episode or really, really good drugs at work, but it is weird. Simmons’ real name is Chaim Witz. I’ve always liked the guy and I truly don’t get this wacky outburst. It was more like a Vegas event than Fox News. After living in Vegas for 20 years, I see this kind of behavior as common… but not on Fox News. It was in poor taste and was timed disastrously. If it was meant as showmanship, it bombed spectacularly.
In the hyper-sensitive, politically correct era we live in, you would think that Gene Simmons would have better sense than to pull a stunt like this at Fox News. An environment where sexual harassment lawsuits are common and bizarre behavior is not tolerated. These people have no sense of humor and an aging rocker can only go so far with that crowd. I think he was making fun of women suing Weinstein and of those claiming to be victims of pedophilia. So not funny. He evidently offended just about everyone. No wonder he got banned for life from the building. Cringe.
